Unity Day | February 25, 2017 | St Andrew’s Episcopal Church | 2233 Woodbourne Ave, Louisville, 40205

Location details: Second floor of the Education Building behind the church. From the parking lot side of the Church, a stairwell takes you to the second floor. From the Ellerbe Avenue side of the Church, you can go in the door for the Main Office where you will find an elevator.

Thank you to the Monday 5:30 meeting for planning this year’s Unity Day, which will focus on Tradition One:  “Our common welfare should come first; personal recovery depends upon OA unity.”

At 2:30 PM, those at the meeting will join with OA members around the world to pray the Unity Prayer:

I Put My Hand In Yours … and together we can do what we could never do alone!   No longer is there a sense of hopelessness, no longer must we each depend upon our own unsteady willpower. We are all together now, reaching out our hands for power and strength greater than ours, and as we join hands, we find love and understanding beyond our wildest dreams.”

OA founder Rozanne S wrote “I put my hand in yours …” as the first paragraph of the OA “Red Book,” published in 1968.   The OA website says that the book was a guide for OA groups and is considered the foundation of OA meetings.

Thanksgiving Day, 2016

The local OA practice that supports abstinent holidays is the annual Louisville Metro “gratitude meeting” on Thanksgiving morning from 7 AM to 9 AM.   The meeting will be held this year on the second floor of the Education Building at St. Andrews Episcopal Church at 2233 Woodbourne Ave.  The only change in this meeting from previous years is that you are asked to bring your own beverage.   Come when you can and join the circle as we begin Thanksgiving Day by sharing heartfelt gratitude.  Anyone who has been to this meeting will tell you that it is one of the best meetings of the year.

“Having a holiday plan” is a good strategy, even if it’s not an official tool!   Please take advantage of one or both of these events to help prepare your hearts and programs for the upcoming holidays.

Together we get better.
